Projects: LEAN Healthcare

LEAN management principles have been used effectively in manufacturing companies for decades. LEAN thinking begins with driving out waste so that all work adds value and serves the customer’s needs. The acclaimed Institute for Healthcare Improvement has shown that LEAN principles can be—indeed, already are being—successfully applied to the delivery of healthcare.

Flannery Construction is one of a very few builders following LEAN philosophies and practices within its own company. Flannery Construction employees participate in ongoing training in LEAN principles by local expert Tom Yardic who has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare operations and facility planning. He has earned LEAN certifications from the Rader School of Business, Fisher College of Business and the University of Wisconsin.

Healthcare institutions following LEAN principles can turn to Flannery Construction as one of the few builders who can bring this valuable knowledge and industry perspective to their healthcare construction projects.
