Project Details

The Victoria Theater in the Frogtown neighborhood of St. Paul was originally built in 1915 as a silent movie house, before becoming a cafe and nightclub in the 1920s. After sitting empty for decades, a collection of neighborhood groups secured funding to purchase the building and save it from demolition in order to turn it into a community arts center. The theater is now designated as a historic building, and boasts flexible performance spaces for music, dance, spoken word, theater and film; artist display and teaching spaces; community gathering places; and support spaces.
