Project Details

Flannery Construction renovated Kyle Garden Square, a 1920s office building that has been transformed into an affordable multifamily housing community. Operating in partnership with Touchstone Mental Health, the building will house residents who have experienced or are exiting homelessness in 59 new efficiency and one-bedroom apartment units. The building had several additions through its history, all of which were gutted to its shell, and a former swimming pool had to be demolished and backfilled. A new roof was installed, along with new windows and mechanicals throughout the building. The existing building was physically connected to HCMC, and as part of the project requirements, Flannery separated the Kyle Garden Square structure and all utilities from the HCMC building. An atrium was converted into a gated exterior courtyard to support a sense of community and wellbeing for its residents. The finished, four-story building offers a community room, bike storage, a new main entrance with an accessibility lift and on-site support services for residents.
