Project Details
Since 1983, non-profit organization Listening House has provided daytime drop-in shelter and support for people experiencing homelessness. Having operated out of a church basement for most of its existence, the organization acquired a building as a permanent location from the City of St. Paul. Formerly a restaurant, Flannery Construction’s first phase involved gutting and remodeling the basement, main floor and exterior of the building, including making multiple structural improvements. Phase two included an addition to the building, successfully overcoming very difficult soil conditions to build a solid foundation. The new location offers showers, laundry and a kitchen to daytime visitors, as well as a work program and other support services.
