Project Details
Migizi Communications is an after-school program for Native youth, teaching digital storytelling, and offering job training, academic support, and cultural teaching. In 2019, Flannery Construction renovated a new headquarters building for Migizi. During the civil unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd, Migizi’s building was burned. One year later, this resilient community organization purchased a new building on Lake Street. Migizi’s young people, staff, and community members worked together to envision what this new space would look and feel like. Flannery renovated the building to include a teen tech center, workshop, gathering space and welcome area, commercial kitchen, conference room, office space, and solar panels.
